Open the Door to your Future

The Afghan National Association for Adult Education opened its 23rd Adult Learning Center (ALC) last December. The new ALC-4 is located in one of the well-known education areas of Kabul city.

Our mission is to enrich lives and enable students to grow as passionate, engaged learners with the confidence to realize intellectual and human potential as individuals and global citizens, says the new education manager. Here in, our ALC students feel safe and supported. We established a learning environment in which individual needs and uniqueness are honored, where abilities and achievements are acknowledged and respected. Intellectual freedom is fostered, and experimentation and creativity are encouraged.

We treat adult students as peers — respected as intelligent, experienced adults. We listen to their opinions and appreciate them. Self-directed learning is the norm in ALC-4. Students take responsibility for their own learning. They work with departments to design individual learning programs that address what each person needs and wants to learn in order to function optimally in his or her profession. Learners are actively involved in the learning experience in our ALC, as opposed to passively listening to lectures. Students and instructors talk and interact, they try out new ideas in the workplace, and they use exercises and experiences to bolster facts and theory. Regular feedback mechanisms are in place for students to tell instructors what works best for them and what they want and need to learn.

In addition, instructors pay attention, they listen and make changes based on student input.

Our main target groups are adults and teenagers (in their last year of school or in transition of school to higher education and work); who want to learn short courses and improve their skills in studies and career.

Our professional and qualified staff tries hard to provide the best education in short courses to all students and make our ALC a sustainable center.

Our educational materials are the most standard across Afghanistan; developed as books by ANAFAE’s quality improvement team; to improve the quality sustainability in Afghanistan.

We provide short courses in six departments; Languages, IT & Computer, Kankor, Science, Arts and Employability. The Language Department offers the international and standard language packages in English/Turkish/German and Arabic in professional and general way. The IT & Computer Department provides short updated and standard computer courses to improve the computer skills of adults and teenagers. The Kankor Department provides Higher Education entry test preparations for students in their last year of school; to help them pass the entry tests of higher education. The Science Department offers basic and professional lessons in Mathematics, natural sciences, and school subjects.

The Arts Department is of the few opportunities in the area, which offers courses in Arts such as calligraphy, drawing and painting. Not last but least, our employability department offers short courses in management, accounting, professional job interview and job seeking skills to help young adults find better jobs or improve their careers.

In conclusion, our new Adult Education Center is the best choice for additional education and a good opportunity to start your short courses studies in low cost and standard way.
