New Rooms Handed Over to CLC 1 Mazar

The German Deputy Consul General, Mr. Alexander Fierley, opened the new teaching rooms of the Community Learning in Centre District 1, at Mazar-e-Sharif on September 6, 2016.

He appreciated the initiatives of DVV International and ANAFAE to promote lifelong learning in the Balkh Province and various other provinces of Afghanistan. Bridging the communities, schools and universities with working life is most important to build own and sustainable perspective for young people in Afghan. The education programs provided by ANAFAE and DVV International give them support and hope.

Community Learning is close to the young people and serves their needs effectively.

The establishment of the new rooms was supported by the German Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif.

ANAFAE and DVV are longstanding and reliable partners offering education programmes to the young generations for years.

The Director of the Provincial Economy Department, a member of the boards of directors overseeing the education work of the 8 Community Learning Centres run by ANAFAE and DVV International in Mazar-e-Sharif pointed out the solid development of these community-based education centres within the last 4 years. During 2015 about 45.000 young people took part in the education programmes conducted by the 8 Community Learning Centres, around 43 % of them were young women

The six new rooms were handed over during the ceremony to the manager of the Community Learning Centre and will now enlarge the education outreach to the surrounding neighbourhoods.
